Symphonic Promenade: May I Have This Dance?

Saturday, May 16 · 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Free

Join the Oak Lawn Band for Symphonic Promenade: May I Have This Dance?, a spring concert celebrating movement, music, and community. This season finale brings together dance-inspired music from many cultures, genres, and eras. It offers audiences a joyful afternoon centered on artistic excellence, cultural expression, and connection.

Audiences can expect a lively program shaped by dance traditions from around the world. The concert draws from ballet, Cuban danzón, tango, contemporary wind repertoire, and jazz, then closes with Benny Goodman’s iconic Sing, Sing, Sing.

While this performance takes place outside the Cedar Springs district, it reflects values that matter deeply to our community. The Oak Lawn Band continues to create space for LGBTQIA+ visibility, shared cultural experiences, and meaningful connection through the arts. That work also extends through partnership. The band says it has partnered with the Resource Center to broaden each organization’s impact and reach.
