Start at 7 AM with a flat white at Oak Lawn Coffee on Cedar Springs — it’s the quiet morning version of the strip, just dog walkers and regulars. By 9 AM, lace up and walk the Katy Trail toward the Trinity River. The city is green and flat and wide, and the skyline catches morning light from the east.
By noon, you’re at Hunky’s for a classic burger and a shake. The patio fills fast, so grab a seat early. Afterward, walk south to Bishop Arts for vintage shopping and murals — Mercado369 and Wild Detectives are essential stops.
5 PM: Head back to Cedar Springs for happy hour. Cheat Code opens early with retro arcade cabinets and cheap wells. Alexandre’s starts jazz sets at 8. By 10 PM, the Strip is alive — Station 4’s dance floor, the Rose Room’s cabaret, Sue Ellen’s rooftop, JR’s patio. You don’t need a plan. Just walk the four blocks and follow the music.
2 AM: Last call. Grab late-night tacos from one of the trucks on Throckmorton. Tomorrow, do it again — or sleep in and catch drag brunch at noon.
